This guide explains how users can open a trading account with Longbridge in the Longbridge App. The application consists of four modules and is completed entirely online. Please have your identification document and Social Security Number (SSN) ready before you start.

Eligibility

To open an account, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Reside in the U.S.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an eligible visa.
  • Hold a valid US ID document
  • Have a valid Social Security Number (SSN)

Go to the Longbridge App, tap Open trading account, tap Get started, and complete the following modules in order.

Module 1 Let’s set you up

Step 1. Enter your contact details (mobile number and email). Your login mobile number and email are used by default. If you change either one, verification is required.

Step 2. Enter your legal full name, date of birth, SSN, citizenship, and country of birth. The SSN is a 9-digit number. To open an account, you must be at least 18 years old. If you are not a US citizen, you must also provide your permanent resident status and visa information.

Step 3. Enter your residential address. The country of residence is fixed to the US, and the system will verify your address.

Step 4. Enter your marital status and employment information. If you select Employed or Self - employed, you must also provide your occupation, employer name, and employer address.

Module 2 Let’s wrap up these employment questions

Step 5. Complete the regulatory questionnaire. Answer truthfully on questions regarding public-company affiliation, senior political figure (SPF)/politically exposed person (PEP) status, employment in securities industry, and other related affiliations. If you select Yes under any question, provide the required details.

Step 6. Complete the tax declaration. Confirm your name and SSN, and declare your tax status.

Step 7. Add a trusted contact for additional account protection. This is optional. If you choose to add one, provide the contact’s name and mobile number.

Module 3 Let’s take a look at your investment profile

Step 8. Answer the investment profile questions in turn, including your investment time horizon, liquidity needs, household income, investment objective, investment experience, annual income, liquid net worth, net worth, expected portfolio size, the percentage of your total investable assets that you plan to invest with Longbridge, risk tolerance, and whether you are in the highest federal income tax bracket.

Step 9. Provide your Large Trader IDs. First, indicate whether you have a Large Trader ID. If you select Yes, enter your ID number.

Note: Large Traders are defined as trading either $2 million in shares or $20 million of fair market value in a day. This is uncommon.

Step 10. Read and accept the margin disclosure statement to open a margin account.

Note: A margin account requires a minimum equity balance of $2,000. If your equity falls below this amount, your account will function as a cash-only account.

Step 11. Choose whether to enroll in our Fully-Paid Securities Lending (FPSL) Program. If you enroll, you can earn passive income by lending fully paid securities held in your account. You must read and accept the corresponding agreement before enrollment.

Step 12. Choose whether to enable options trading and cryptocurrency trading features. To enable either of these two features, you must first read and accept the corresponding risk disclosures and agreements.

Module 4 Your identity

Step 13. Go to the confirmation page (the page with a prompt indicating “You’re almost there. Scroll down to review your account information.”) and review the information under About You and Your financial profile sections. Review each field. To make any change, tap the field to go to the corresponding page, and tap Confirm once everything is correct.

Step 14. Complete identity verification. If further verification is required, follow the prompts to upload your ID document and complete liveness detection.

Step 15. Read and accept the relevant agreements (including the customer agreement, electronic delivery agreement, and risk disclosures), and submit your application.

Step 16. After submission, please wait for review. You will be notified of your account opening result through in-app notifications or the email address you provided during application. You can also go to the App > Assets to check your result. If you have any questions or concerns during this process, please don’t hesitate to contact us via support@longbridge.com.
